Scholarships 2009-2010
The Alumni Association is proud to recognize the academic achievements,
community and University involvement, and outstanding potential of current
and incoming students by offering a number of scholarships each year
to qualified candidates. The Alumni Association helps students reach
their academic goals by awarding more than $255,000 in scholarship funds
annually. If you would like to participate in this initiative, you may
donate to the General Scholarship Fund or the
individual Chapter Scholarship
Funds.
ALUMNI ASSOCIATION undergraduate CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP
Open to students who have completed at least two full years at the University of Utah.
10 $3,000 scholarships
Applications are due by February 1, 2010
young alumni scholarships
Available to students who will be University of Utah seniors in the fall of 2009.
Multiple scholarships from $1,500 to $3,000
Applications are due by February 1, 2010
emeritus scholarships
Available to former University of Utah nontraditional students who have had a lapse in their education for an extended period of time due to difficult circumstances and who wish to resume their education.
Two $3,000 scholarships
Applications are due by February 1, 2010
ALUMNI ASSOCIATION IRA AND MARY LOU FULTON SCHOLARSHIP
Available to a current second-year student at the University of Utah
One $5,000 scholarship
($4,000 and an additional $1,000 for completion of an internship with a service organization)
Applications are due by February 1, 2010
BEEHIVE HONOR SOCIETY UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
Available to undergraduate students at the University of Utah.
Two $1,500 scholarships
Applications are due by February 1, 2010
University Neighborhood Partners (UNP) Scholarships
Open to current U of U students who are served by UNP
One $4,000 scholarship, and two $2,000 scholarships
New scholarship applications for 2010-2011 will be available in early 2010.
Alumni Legacy Scholarships
Available to students whose parent(s) attended the University of Utah and who hold a current dues-paying membership in the Alumni Association.
Four $2,000 scholarships
Applications are due by February 1, 2010
BEEHIVE HONOR SOCIETY LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP
Available to Beehive Honor Society members, or a member’s child or grandchild.
One $1,500 scholarship
Applications are due by February 1, 2010
founders day scholarship
Open to current U of U students who have overcome difficult circumstances or challenges
One $6,000 scholarship
Applications are due by January 18, 2010
Alumni Association Achievement Scholarships
Open to all Founders Day Scholarship applicants
Six $3,000 scholarships
Applications are due by January 18, 2010
YOUNG ALUMNI GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
Available to students who are currently enrolled in a University of Utah graduate program.
Varying number and amount of scholarships from $1,500 to $3,000
Applications are due by February 1, 2010
ALUMNI ASSOCIATION FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP
Available to outstanding high school students who demonstrate academic excellence and who have given service to their school and community.
15 $2,000 scholarships
Application is made by filling out the General Freshman Scholarships form onlinehere Due February 1, 2010
ALUMNI ASSOCIATION NONRESIDENT SCHOLARSHIP FOR INCOMING FRESHMEN
Available to high school seniors who are nonresidents of Utah and who are children or grandchildren of a University alumnus/a.
Six $5,900 scholarships
Due February 1, 2010
BAY AREA ALUMNI CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIPS
Available to current students and incoming freshmen who graduated from a Bay Area high school.
Two $3,000 scholarships
The scholarship application for 2010-2011 will be available in late fall 2009.
SOUTHERN UTAH ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIPS
Available to students who graduated from a Southern Utah high school and currently attend or are planning to attend the University of Utah.
