Young Alumni Scholarships

For more than a decade the Young Alumni Board (YAB) has been raising funds in support of student scholarships. Last year, YAB was able to award 13 University of Utah students scholarships from funds raised at our annual 5K and Kids Fun Run. The Young Alumni Board scholarships are awarded to continuing U of U students who demonstrate excellence in academics, enthusiasm for academic and community involvement, and a commitment to the University and fellow students.

  • At least eight scholarships are awarded each year

  • The scholarships is available to current undergraduate students with no less than 90 credit hours by Fall Semester 2009

  • Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater

  • Awards are made in amounts up to $3,000

The application for 2010-11 is forthcoming.

Young Alumni Awards and Spring Awards Banquet

Each year the Alumni Association and its Young Alumni Board (YAB) present awards to outstanding faculty and staff in recognition of their achievements in student counseling and advising. In addition, the YAB’s Par Excellence Award honors an alumnus/a for his or her professional achievement and exceptional service to the community. The award recipients are honored at the Association’s annual Spring Awards Banquet.

Perlman Excellence in Student Counseling Awards
Presented to faculty and staff who have made outstanding contributions to the University through their student advising and counseling. Two awards are given—one each to a faculty and a staff member. Each awardee is recognized with a $1,000 cash stipend.
