The Beehive Honor Society was founded at the U in 1913 for the purpose of honoring graduating seniors who demonstrated leadership, scholarship, and service to the University and the community. Sponsored by the Alumni Association, the society is directed by a 10-member board.
Beehive is the oldest local honor society on the University of Utah campus.
On average, one in 1,000 students at the University of Utah is inducted into the Beehive Honor Society. Among the society’s 1,200-plus members and 20 honorary members are prominent leaders in medicine, academia, business, politics, and the arts. The Beehive Honor Society provides graduating seniors with the opportunity to join in fellowship with other outstanding alumni.
Each year, one to three members are replaced on the Beehive Honor
Society Board. Application forms for 2010 will be available later this year.
