Applications and Events

Each year the University of Utah Alumni Association offers a number of awards to individuals, on- and off-campus, who have made a positive impact on the University and society through their professional achievements and community service .

Alumni

Par Excellence Award Spring Awards Banquet

Presented by the Young Alumni Board (YAB) annually to a former student who attended the U within the last 15 years and has given outstanding service to the University, the community, and/or his/her profession.

Distinguished Alumnus/a Award Founders Day Celebration

Represents the highest honor the Association can bestow upon a former student of the University. Four awards are given annually. The individuals selected to receive the awards are honored at the annual Founders Day celebration.

Honorary Alumnus/a Award Founders Day Celebration

Represents the highest honor the Association can bestow upon a non-alumnus/a. One award is given annually. The individual selected to receive the award is honored at the annual Founders Day celebration.

Emeritus Merit of Honor Award Emeritus Awards Banquet

Given by the Emeritus Alumni Board each year to former students who have given distinguished service to the nation, the University, the community and/or their profession. The awards are presented at the annual Emeritus Awards Banquet.

Faculty and Staff

Perlman Excellence in Student Counseling Award Spring Awards Banquet

Awarded to a faculty or staff member who has made outstanding contributions to the University through his/her student advising and counseling. Recipient receives a $500 cash stipend and will be honored at the Spring Awards Banquet on April 17, 2008.

Faculty/Staff Community Service Award Spring Awards Banquet

Recognizes a faculty or staff member who has contributed significantly to the betterment of the off-campus community through sharing or volunteering his/her time, talent, and/or resources. Recipient receives a $500 cash stipend and will be honored at the Spring Awards Banquet on April 17, 2008.
