Applications and Events
Each year the University of Utah Alumni Association offers a number of awards to individuals, on- and off-campus, who have made a positive impact on the University and society through their professional achievements and community service .
Alumni
Par Excellence Award — Spring Awards Banquet
Presented by the Young Alumni Board (YAB) annually to a former student
who attended the U within the last 15 years and has given outstanding
service to the University, the community, and/or his/her profession.

Distinguished Alumnus/a Award — Founders Day Celebration
Represents the highest honor the Association can bestow upon a former
student of the University. Four awards are given annually. The individuals
selected to receive the awards are honored at the annual Founders Day
celebration.

Honorary Alumnus/a Award — Founders Day Celebration
Represents the highest honor the Association can bestow upon a non-alumnus/a.
One award is given annually. The individual selected to receive the

Emeritus Merit of Honor Award — Emeritus Awards Banquet
Given by the Emeritus Alumni Board each year to former students who have given distinguished service to the nation, the University, the community and/or their profession. The awards are presented at the annual Emeritus Awards Banquet.

Faculty and Staff
Perlman Excellence in Student Counseling Award — Spring Awards Banquet
Awarded to a faculty or staff member who has made outstanding contributions to the University through his/her student advising and counseling. Recipient receives a $500 cash stipend and is honored at the annual Spring Awards Banquet in April.

Faculty/Staff Community Service Award — Spring Awards Banquet
Recognizes a faculty or staff member who has contributed significantly to the betterment of the off-campus community through sharing or volunteering his/her time, talent, and/or resources. Recipient receives a $500 cash stipend and is honored at the annual Spring Awards Banquet in April.
